I was curious about our great disposal and knowing what happens to dead bodies would at least kill the recurring desire to die.

Burial is the most common method of disposition worldwide. A simple burial is fine but I have heard of some people donating their cadavers (dead bodies) to science or other charitable causes. Being of help sounded attractive. But do I want to get smashed in the driver’s seat to help determine safety regulations of a car? Cadavers were used for such a purpose. Some businesses were such profit-worshippers that they were against seat belts. Now, they know better. So, how can I be useful in a dignified manner? Difficult question. Cremation sounded easy. Your whole body is burned to ashes. But when I heard skulls and bones took way too long to crack, to calcify, I decided no.

Burial is it then. What happens naturally to our bodies? We simply rot away. The same old maggots I have hated since they infested our trash bin are coming for me. We are all waiting for the MEGA feast of millions of maggots on the tissues of our dead bodies. And that’s the body I am building, washing and grooming every day. How pathetic! Obviously, it doesn’t matter what happens to my cadaver. It will not feel any pain or disgust or anything.  And I circle in on the same realisation that comes to me every single time — Why take life so seriously? Why? I am so protective of the essence of my soul and the dignity of my body. I never learn.
